Space, Inputs and Time

If you thought we were going to head straight into refining all the ideas down into just the best ones, you’re wrong. In order for the best ideas to rise to the surface, you need to give them room to develop in the background, mostly unconsciously. It might be as you wash your hair in the shower, mindlessly watch TV, or go for a long run. After the Cerebration sessions, there should be a few ideas that stand out above the others. It might be the one that was most discussed during the session, or one that gave you a ‘gut feeling’ when you first heard it. It could also be the idea that keeps popping back into your head every time you’re driving or vacuuming or waiting at the traffic lights. Ideas will fight for attention in your head, and like Darwin’s survival of the fittest, the strongest will start to emerge when you give them space to breathe.

Killer ideas rarely arrive fully formed. To allow them ample room to percolate in the dark recesses of your mind, you have to SIT with it. SIT stands for Space, Inputs and Time, and they are the three conditions needed to let the best ideas grow.
